What the description doesn't tell you about the product
This product seems like a good deal, but this is one of those products in which you get what you pay for. The raquets that come with the set are of steel, which make them a bit heavy and the grip of the raquet is hard plastic (which was not mentioned anywhere). The shuttlecocks are made of a soft plastic and have rubber heads. And the set also comes with a net, two polls, ropes, a bag, etc. The quality is not great, but for that price, this is a good buy. This product is great for backyard badmin for the family, but it's a really bad choice if you are looking for tournament quality racquets and equipment. ... Read more

Prince Axis from Asby
I ordered two Prince Axis 65 racquets from Asby would like to share some of my observations:

* The product details did not mention that its grip size is small and kinda short. Good thing my hands are relatively smaller and it fitted me nicely. but if u have big hands, I wouldnt recommend it.
* The strings doesnt look like orig prince strings (doesnt have the Prince logo) and Oh it comes with funky colors too giving it an impression that its a $10 badminton racquet (but not really the case, I hope). Mine came in Neon Green and the other one is Purple. I guess its targetted to teenage newbies or kids. The frame itself is a beautiful dark blue color.
* Its a Y-joint, light and I guess its a graphite (but doest say what kind since I dont see any labels or letters on it except for the "prince" and "axis 65"
*On the plus side, the product listing says it doesnt have cover. (see "no cover") but to my surprise, It came with a blue cover!

My experience with Prince Axis 65 from Asby
Overall, it is a ver good product. Light weight frame, good quality string. Seller offered free-of-charge replacement of the original overgrip.

value for money
This is a very good deal at (...) considering the raquet is single piece and composed of 100% graphite. This makes the raquet very light and and with a good stroke. The strings are not original Prince and dont seem to be of a great quality but are OK. The handle grip is not long lasting and started to disintegrate within 2 weeks getting wet from sweat. This is not something for professionals but a very good alternative if you are looking for a good quality raquet at a lower price. ... Read more

Plastic, plastic, plastic . . .
I actually purchased the Spalding World Pro Badminton Set, which I thought would be a little better quality.After an hour of putting the net together I tried to set it up.Every time I tried to adjust the net to take the sag out of the middle something would break.After three broken items I decided that somebody should have known better than to make poles and stakes out of plastic.Have no comment on the raquets and shuttlecocks because we never got to play.The bag is very nice; too bad the effort put into the bag wasn't put into the game.

Without a good racket, what's the point?
I was looking for an inexpensive badminton set and found a good deal with Dick's sporting goods online store (actually, it's not really Dick's - 'cos you can't return the item at Dick's).
Anyway I decided upon this set since it didn't seem to cheap, nor too expensive. But when I did get the item here's what I found:

1) The rackets are terrible. Even though the string on the rackets didn't seem loose, every time I played with it, the shuttlecock would get stuck in the net of the racket. And I wasn't hitting hard or anything, just light playing.

2) The shuttlecocks are pretty bad too. They get squished in the molded case and then don't fly well.

3) Speaking of molded case - this one's okay. But mine didn't always close properly. I think I'd prefer the soft cases (like bags) instead of the molded cases.

4) Everything else seemed decent (net, poles, etc.). You do have to push the stakes into your lawn to mount the poles for the net, though. (It's not the kind with a heavy base).

Overall, it might have been an okay package if it weren't for the rackets. What's the point if you can't play for more than a minute before the shuttlecock gets stuck in the racket's strings? Sadly, I ended up losing money by paying for the return shipping.
