4-0 out of 5 stars Just a Swinging!
I bought this for really cheap and I cant wait until spring when I can use it!I didnt think that I wanted a rope hammock, but the price was right and now that I have it I love it and cant wait to use it outside!

5-0 out of 5 stars Give it time
It is funny to read these review of people complaining of the hammock sagging.Of course being a cotton hammock, there is some stretch to work out of it.The first time I sat on it, I was on the ground rather quickly. However, unlike the other negative reviews, I simply retied the knots to make it tight again.Magically, the hammock stayed up, some people need to learn patience!I spent most of my summer taking a nap, and reading books on it. I recommend it to everyone.

5-0 out of 5 stars I love mine!!!
It does stretch a little, but I weigh 190lbs, and set at the tightest links, it is heaven on earth. The stand was super simple to assemble (no screws!) and with a pillow, stress just melts away!

5-0 out of 5 stars Don't listen to those nitwits...
I almost decided not to buy this hammock based on the not-great reviews. A saggy hammock? Sure; it's cotton. And yes, when I first put it on the stand and lay down on it, my butt did touch the bar. But this is why there is a word called "adjustable." Simple solution: shorten the chains connecting it to the stand. Sure, you wouldn't have to muck with that with a synthetic fabric, but you also wouldn't have the wonderful smell of minimally-processed cotton. The only possible downside is that it will easily mold if left outdoors in the rain, but since I don't want to be laying out on a hammock in the rain anyway, it's not a big deal.

2-0 out of 5 stars Notthe best - Only buy it if it is free!
I ordered the stand and recieved this hammock for free with it. I am glad it was free as it is cheaply made. The tag on it reads made in India and it looked it. This hammock sinks to the ground when I sit on it. I am a big guy but not close to the 400 pound weight limit I read when I bought it. This thing is only good for free. I am sure it will not last long. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Decent value for the discount price
This isn't a bad hammock. Not great, but not bad.

Actual shipped weight is 17 pounds. Frame is labelled "Seadrift Hammock" (which I find elsewhere, identical in appearance, except for the hammock material itself).

Setup instructions aren't terribly clear, but there's really only one way this thing can be assembled. It just might take some mild thinking beyond simply trying to follow the directions.

Seams appear somewhat weakly stitched, especially at the weight-bearing ends, but it holds (so far?). In addition, though not near the maximum weight of 250 lbs., I sink to within maybe 5-6 inches of the ground at my lowest point when on the hammock. It's not "bad", just a tad disconcerting when first settling in.

The poles that make up the frame can somewhat readily come apart if one is not slow and careful when trying to move the assembled hammock.

On the upside, it's pretty easy to remove the fabric portion if one doesn't want to leave it exposed to the elements for extended periods of time. (Taking apart and reassembling the frame regularly would be a moderate pain.)

Overall, this is a workable hammock and a decent value for the discount price. I doubt a bit how well it will hold up long-term (especially the fabric). I'd also suggest that someone who wants something for daily use, portability, or a longer-term investment look at something perhaps a *bit* more expensive.

For something to stick in one place on a backyard, patio, or balcony for the summer (and maybe beyond if care is taken), this works. Nothing fancy, and I'd make sure everything remains connected properly each time before putting weight on it, but for the price it's a respectable value.

    About Columbia Sportswear
Founded in 1938, Columbia Sportswear Company has grown from a small family-owned hat distributor to one of the world's largest outerwear brands and the leading seller of skiwear in the United States. Columbia's extensive product line includes a wide variety of outerwear, sportswear, rugged footwear and accessories. Columbia specializes in developing innovative products that are functional yet stylish and offer great value. Eighty-year-old matriarch Gert Boyle, Chairman of the Board, and her son, Tim Boyle, President and CEO, lead the company. Columbia's history starts with Gert's parents, Paul and Marie Lamfrom, when they fled Germany in 1937. They bought a small hat distributorship in Portland, Oregon, and named it Columbia Hat Company, after the river bordering the city. Soon frustrated by poor deliveries from suppliers, the Lamfroms decided to start manufacturing products themselves. In 1948, Gert married college sweetheart Neal Boyle, who joined the family business and later took the helm of the growing company. When Neal suddenly died of a heart attack in 1970, Gert enlisted help from Tim, then a college senior. After that it wasn't long before business really started to take off. Columbia was one of the first companies to make jackets from waterproof/breathable fabric. They introduced the breakthrough technology called the Columbia Interchange System, in which a shell and liner combine for multiple wearing options. In the early 1980s, then 60 year-old Gert began her role as "Mother Boyle" in Columbia's successful and popular advertising campaign. In 1998 the company went public, and moved into a new era as a world leader in the active outdoor apparel industry. Today, Columbia Sportswear employs more than 1,800 people around the world and distributes and sells products in more than 50 countries and to more than 12,000 retailers internationally.

    Amazon.com Tent Guide
    Selecting a Tent
Fortunately, there are all kinds of tents for weekend car campers, Everest expeditions, and everything in-between. Here are a few things to keep in mind:

    Expect the Worst
In general, it's wise to choose a tent that's designed to withstand the worst possible conditions you think you'll face. For instance, if you're a summer car camper in a region where weather is predictable, an inexpensive family or all purpose tent will likely do the trick--especially if a vehicle is nearby and you can make a mad dash for safety when bad weather swoops in! If you're a backpacker, alpine climber or bike explorer, or if you like to car camp in all seasons, you'll want to take something designed to handle more adversity.

    Three- and Four-Season Tents
For summer, early fall and late spring outings, choose a three-season tent. At minimum, a quality three season tent will have lightweight aluminum poles, a reinforced floor, durable stitching, and a quality rain-fly. Some three-season tents offer more open-air netting and are more specifically designed for summer backpacking and other activities. Many premium tents will feature pre-sealed, taped seams and a silicone-impregnated rain-fly for enhanced waterproofness.

For winter camping or alpine travel, go with a four season model. Because they typically feature more durable fabric coatings, as well as more poles, four-season tents are designed to handle heavy snowfall and high winds without collapsing. Of course, four-season tents exact a weight penalty of about 10 to 20 percent in trade for their strength and durability. They also tend to be more expensive.

    Domes, Tunnels and Sacks
Tents are broadly categorized into two types, freestanding, which can stand up on their own, and those that must be staked down in order to stand upright. Freestanding tents often incorporate a dome-shaped design, and most four-season tents are constructed this way because a dome leaves no flat spots on the outer surface where snow can collect. Domes are also inherently stronger than any other design. Meanwhile, many three-season models employ a modified dome configuration called a tunnel. These are still freestanding, but they require fewer poles than a dome, use less fabric, and typically have a rectangular floor-plan that offers less storage space than a dome configuration. Many one and two-person tents are not freestanding, but they make up for it by being more lightweight. Because they use fewer poles, they can also be quicker to set up than a dome.

    Size Matters
Ask yourself how many people you'd like to fit in your fabric hotel now and in the future. For soloists and minimalists, check out one-person tents. If you're a mega-minimalist, or if you have your eye on doing some big wall climbs, a waterproof-breathable bivy sack is the ticket. Some bivy sacks feature poles and stake points to give you a little more breathing room. Also, if you don't need bug protection and you want to save weight, check out open-air shelters.

Families who plan on car camping in good weather can choose from a wide range of jumbo-sized tents that will accommodate all your little ones with room to spare. A wide range of capacities is also available for three- and four-season backpacking and expedition tents. Remember, though, the bigger the tent you buy, the heavier it will be, although it's easy to break up the tent components among several people in your group. It's also helpful to compare the volume and floor-space measurements of models you're considering.

1-0 out of 5 stars Doesn't hold air!
My 2 girls got this as a Christmas present & the first night they went to sleep on it, one had already gotten a leak & cried because she couldn't sleep on "her own bed".The other was deflated in the morning when we woke up.They didn't jump on them, either. We can't send them back because like most x-mas gifts, the boxes have been thrown out.

5-0 out of 5 stars Barbie Ready Bed
I ordered the Barbie ready bed for my daughter. We were a litle dissappointed, because the one in the picture, with the ballerina barbie on it was the one that we wanted. Well we never got that one, even after sending the first one I recieved back. But over-all she loves her ready bed. She has slept on it since the first day that my husband and I gave it to her!!!!!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars GREAT for sleepovers!
We live a few hours from family and when we visit, we always sleep on the floor in the living room.I bought 2 of these (one Scooby) for my 6 and 3 year old children because they always had trouble sleeping on the hard floor and we were up all night which left them quite cranky the following day.Since we got these beds, they sleep peacefully through the whole night, I no longer need to lug their pillows or extra blankets. They absolutely love them, which is important.I have caught them jumping like it's a trampoline, but they haven't sprung a leak yet!

The ONLY improvement I would like them to change is the valve. We have a small portable air pump that would make inflation a snap, but their valve doesn't fit any of the pumps out there and I even inquired about an adaptor but they don't offer one so you're left pumping by hand which is a pain.

5-0 out of 5 stars THIS IS THE FUTURE OF SLEEPING BAGS!
THE BED IS GREAT, IT GOES ON TRIPS WITH US, AND GET THIS, I HAVE SLEPT ON IT.BY THE WAY, I AM 5'9, 158LBS.

SOME COMPLAINED THAT IS LEAKS, THE ONLY JUSTIFICATION FOR THAT IS, SOME KIDS USE IT AS A TRAMPOLINE!

I HAVE HAD MINE FOR ALMOST A YEAR, AND HAVE INSTRUCTED ALL KIDS WHO STAY OVER, DO NOT JUMP ON IT!IT IS STRICTLY FOR LAYING, OR SLEEPING.

I ALSO HAVE AN AEROBED THAT LEAKS, BECAUSE I CAUGHT THE KIDS JUMPING AND WRESTLING ON IT.

AGAIN, THIS IS A GREAT AND DURABLE PRODUCT, IF USED CORRECTLY.

2-0 out of 5 stars Great Idea Very Bad Quality
My daughter loves it, but after only a few uses it leaked, located that leak and it lasted only a week, until the next leak. I am very disapointed, it should have lasted longer than a couple of months. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Lives up to the hype
I was looking for a new griddle and wanted cast iron mainly because of the health concerns of traditional nonstick surfaces.Have used it several days and cooked the usual things (eggs, grilled cheese, salmon etc...)Did a great job and the preseasoning is awesome for a quick cleanup.Still getting used to getting it to heat evenly and would give it 5 stars if it were not so HEAVY (if you drop the griddle it will destroy anything its path including your toes or floor, so be careful).Great addition to our kitchen!!

5-0 out of 5 stars We have a winner!
Just received this item yesterday. The predone seasoning appears uniform over the entire surface, although I am surprised the metal itself is not smoother( We'll see how this impacts performance later on ).Be forewarned: this thing is impressively heavy. Its like going to the gym when you're wrangling this thing around in the sink.Hey, no pain no gain!

So let's get cooking.First I scrubbed it down for a minute or so with a stiff nylon brush, removing anything undesireable from the manufacturer.( Nothing was noted ).Next, dried it off and hit the smooth side with a quick blast of PAM and wiped it down nice and even. With this done I made my way out to the Weber gas grill and brought the whole rig up to 475/500.There was an ever so slight trace of smoke coming off the grid. She was ready to go.Perfect!I place a nice 1.0 lbs slab of Ahi( rubbed down with an olive oil/paprika/pepper/salt coating ) on and the stand back in awe. Forget closing the lid.It was beautiful!I can still hear the sizzle... I go for about 2 minutes and flip it over and do the same to the other side. The flip was effortless, no sticking what-so-ever.This baby is a dream. So I turn off the grill, go inside, have dinner, and come back out 30 minutes later to pick it up, and its still to hot to touch. The Weber is stone cold, but the Lodge griddle forgot I cut the flame.15 minutes later its cool enough to handle but still warm. This is what I call heat retention! In a nutshell I am most impressed.Hopefully we'll get good performace with more delicate items as well.

5-0 out of 5 stars Don't even THINK of trying another griddle
I absolutely adore this griddle, and I use it almost every day.

At first, I wasn't sure that I wanted a cast iron griddle. They are HEAVY and not dishwasher safe . . . so I tried a few nonstick brands first --top dollar brands with high ratings.

I hated them. The nonstick surface was inferior. On a reversible griddle, the underside became sticky and difficult to clean. The heat was distributed unevenly. One claimed to be dishwasher safe, yet when I put it in the dishwasher, some of the nonstick surface came off.

I am extremely health conscious, and I use very little oil when I cook.Food often stuck to the "non-stick" surface -- go figure.

I wanted to find a great griddle that I could use for many things, including cooking like the chefs in Japanese Steak Houses -- I dreamed of using a small dash of my favorite oil and flinging shrimp, chicken and veggies on the griddle like a pro.No, I didn't think I could toss my tools in the air or catch the shrimp in my pocket . . . I just wanted the flavor and the ease of cooking.

By this time, I was on a quest, and the non-stick stuff just wasn't cutting it.I did a little research, and I learned that pros recommend the Lodge griddle, so despite my apprehension, I thought I'd give it a try.

Wow!The pre-seasoned surface is perfect and better than any non-stick surface I have ever used.Just a tiny bit of non-stick spray is all I need, and everything from pancakes to eggs flip with ease.Grilling Japanese style works perfectly.

On the grill side: whole steaks, chicken, fish -- fabulous, fast, and everything has those beautiful grill lines.Nice for grilled vegetables, too.

The griddle is indeed heavy, but it's okay.I wouldn't recommend lifting it if you have serious muscle or joint problems, and I wouldn't want to drop it on my foot, but otherwise, go for it.I'm a softie, and if I can handle it, so can you.

As for not being able to put the griddle in the dishwasher:I don't believe I'm going to say this, but I don't care about having to handwash it.The griddle cleans so easily, a few swipes and I'm done.If I forget to clean it and wake up to it the next morning (okay, so I'm not Suzy Homemaker), I just lay it straight across the top of my sink -- not IN the sink, but rather, balanced from edge to edge, on top . . . and I run a little water over it, let it set for a few minutes, and it'seasy to clean.

A word of advice:Just as it says in the instructions, you need to clean the griddle without soap (water only) to preserve the pre-seasoned finish. However, should you want to use soap, you can. There are instructions included in how to re-season the griddle -- it's easy.

I frankly didn't like the idea of not cleaning with soap.I didn't feel as though the germs were destroyed . . . but soap doesn't really kill germs, it merely works as a surfactant that makes water wetter so things become easier to clean.

If you want to kill germs, heat is one of the best ways to do it.Every time you use the griddle, you preheat it on the range for about five minutes or so -- you're killing far more germs than if you had used soap!

You can also rub your griddle with a very light coating of oil, stick it in a hot oven and disinfect it that way (this is also similar to how you reseason it).

This is one of the easiest, most wonderful kitchen tools I own.It is a breeze to use, I feel like a pro flipping all that food around.Everything comes out great, and it is very easy to use, and food does not stick.I am going to add more cast iron to my kitchen.

PS:I remember reading somewhere that using cast iron also adds iron to your diet.A nice extra, yes?

5-0 out of 5 stars Lodge griddle
I have been using this griddle for sometime now,and just love it. If you have never used case Iron, just give it a try. All of your food taste better. I love my LODGE CAST IRON, and I am glad that it is American made.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best grill/griddle around...
I just received my griddle last week and I've been using it daily with excelent results every time. Mine arrived with a few minor scratches on the preseasoning but all of them seem to be disappearing quite soon (I spray a little pam all over the griddle before using it). I cooked some hamburgers on the grill side which turned out delicious and they got those great grill marks on them also. I've had no sticking problems at all with this thing so far. Cleanup is easy providing you have a stiff brush, a large sink and the strong arms required to carry it from the stove to the sink every time you wash it (this thing weighs 15 pounds). I highly recommend this griddle to anyone, it's very well constructed and looks like it will last a lifetime with proper care. ... Read more

    Product Description

The one thing that probably discourages more people from purchasing and using cast iron is maintenance. Like carbon steel woks, cast iron cooking pieces require "seasoning." To many this is a mysterious or overly time-consuming process. Even if you treasure fond memories of eggs and pancakes cooked in grandmother's ancient, blackened skillet, you might have no idea how to turn your new pan into such a treasure. Fortunately Lodge has come out with the new Logic line, which has been evenly coated on all surfaces with an electrostatic spray of vegetable oil. Next the cookware is put into an extremely high temperature industrial oven which bakes the coating into the surface. Not only will you be spared the time and effort of seasoning, but also the new piece you buy will look and perform better than if you had seasoned it at home. Just like that heirloom pan you will find that even pineapple upside down cake doesn't stick to this surface. This mid-size skillet is excellent for making frying eggs, cooking pancakes and a host of other tasks. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Works well, but I don't understand the "Logic"...
My first Lodge purchase was their square grill pan. I followed the seasoning instructions to the letter, and although I ended up with a properly seasoned pan, I wasn't thrilled with the uneveness or the uncovered spots (the areas where the pan actually touched the oven grate while the shortening was baking on). Over time, the pan has turned out to be a peak performer, and the initial imperfections have been glossed over by a nice shiny black patina. However, a few weeks after my purchase I remained unconvinced, so when it was time to add a regular skillet to my arsenal, I opted to go for their preseasoned "Logic" line.

Performance on this pan has been exactly the same as the unseasoned grill pan...cast iron is really the unsung hero of the kitchen, and at a price point that blows away my Calphalon and All-Clad. On a gas range you can't beat the even heating, heat retention, and fabulous browning. My only complaint with this pan is the Logic "preseasoning", a vegetable oil mix blasted all over the pan and cooked on prior to sale, making it "black" right out of the box. While it does protect the pan from rust, etc., I don't feel that it posesses the same non-stick properties as a properly baked-on finish done over time. Food WILL stick to this. Lodge customer service indicates that their seasoning is only the first step, that the pan will continue to season and get better with age. I haven't found that to be true. I've cooked fried chicken, fajitas, bacon, burgers, and various other meals in this pan and none of the cooking has managed to "add" to the original seasoning, at least not in any noticeable quantity. I even recoated it with melted Crisco and tried baking it in, but it only filmed up on the surface and never really adhered with the pan. On the other hand, my grill pan "Gets better every time" I use it (as the company saying goes).

If you're new to cast iron and want something that's low-maintenance and easy to use right away, I'd recommend this skillet...like I said, it really performs well for such an affordable price. You can vigorously scrub this out after each use, and still have the factory finish left behind. However, if you one day wish to have that shiny black, naturally non-stick finish on your pans, I'd steer clear of this and shop instead for Lodge's "Original Finish" line (which sadly is far outnumbered by the "Lodge Logic" line).

5-0 out of 5 stars The Best Pan Hands Down!
I just got this pan a few days ago, after reading the reviews, which are all true, and I love it! I too bought nonstick pans because I hated the clean up and didn't like things to stick. This pan is very easy to clean and food doesn't stick to it at all, as long as you take care of it properly. I got so tired of buying nonstick pans because even though they have those long warranties, they alway seem to eventually stick, and then be thrown away.. I hate to just keep spending money over and over for new cookware. Now I won't have to. I just made breakfast in this pan, and made the best bacon gravy ever! I never thought a pan could make things taste better until I cooked in this and I swear, you can taste the difference- things have a more intense flavor. If I want to use metal utensils no worries.. this pan is a little bigger than I thought as well.. There are no cons about this pan that I can honestly think about, other than it is heavier than your average skillet, but not too bad. Buy you a couple of pans and get free shipping- now that's a win-win situation!

5-0 out of 5 stars Good seasoning, but won't hurt to do it again, a keeper
The skillet is well seasoned. Fried eggs didn't stick on the new skillet. I did spray canola oil and heated it on the burner for 15 min, and then sprayed again and put in oven at 450F for 1 hr. It is now a very deep black, with some parts of it real smooth, and now nothing sticks. Looks like it's been used for years. This is a great item.

5-0 out of 5 stars My favorite skillet
I always thought cast iron was a lot of work to clean and season. I also never thought of it as non stick. My husband bought me this skillet and now I use it all of the time.It is virtually non stick and easy to clean.I highly recommend it for either an occaisional breakfast cook or a hard core gourmet.Alton Brown says if you are going to have just one skillet, this is it.He is right.

5-0 out of 5 stars Nothing beats it!
There is no other pan that can take high heat on your gas stove, total abuse from your steel spatula, then go straight into the oven for cornbread, next out to your firepit for a couple hours, and all this only makes it better. Only cast iron actually benefits from frequent use. All it asks from you is a little veggie oil and a dry cupboard. I highly recommend the cover that goes with this pan, too. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars These are very sturdy quality shorts.
I have done just about everything in these things. Swimming, boating, hiking, yard work, bicycling, and much more. I even thought a few times that I had torn them, but they were fine. They take major punishment. I see that one other person complained about them being made of non-breathing material. From his message, I could see that he was wearing underwear under the shorts. These are "commando" shorts! The mesh lining is all you need. If you wear anything under it, of course you'll get hot. I live in New Mexico with 100+ heat for months at a time, and assure you that these shorts are very comfortable and cool when worn properly (alone). The ONLY thing I don't like about these shorts are the "swish swish" sounds of the nylon rubbing against itself while walking. Gee - that's not much. Not enough to keep me from buying more! Not enough to even downgrade my rating. Buy these shorts - and wear them commando!

2-0 out of 5 stars NOT A HIKING SHORT....NYLON DOES NOT BREATH..
I bought two pair of these short's and one was ok the other had a bent zipper pull and a hole in front pocket for me these short's would be fine for doubling as a swimsuit or for white water rafting but for hiking they just do not breathe well enough they trapp all your body heat and you end up with damp under wear. They would be fine for around the house but to me they just wrong for walking in maybe it is just me and nylon prefer cotton short much more comfortable.

5-0 out of 5 stars The best shorts I have ever owned!
If you are looking for a pair of comfortable shorts that can take a day of hiking, camping, or just working outside -- then these are for you. They are made of Dupont Nylon and are ultra-lightweight and virtually stain resistant.

The pockets are one of the major features of these shorts. They contain "pockets within pockets" as I like to call them. The back pockets have a nylon mesh outter pocket -- perfect for carrying all the camping or hiking accesories -- plus a full regular pocket large enough to hold even the biggest wallet. In fact, you can even fold the shorts up and store them inside one of the pockets!Perfect for packing as tightly as possible on those long camping trips!

Overall, the best shorts out there for those who like to be outside.A perfect 10 in my book for comfort, durability and function. ... Read more

I'm a maintenance specialist for a pharmaceutical company in the bay area and have used this tool on several occations and find it to be a quality product. It's bright, adjustable and can last for a long time. I have also used it in night hiking or running.

    Great product.

4-0 out of 5 stars Terrific headlight
This light is super bright. The batteries seem to last forever. One thing is that the switch can be a little flaky, which can affect the light's brightness.Still, it's a great light. The strap is very comfortable and it's so light you forget you have it on, except everywhere you look, it's bright!

5-0 out of 5 stars two years and still going strong
I bought my Tikka with an REI year-end dividend when they were brand new, still fairly unique and a bit more expensive. Today there are a ton of LED headlamps about, and I have a few others, but the Tikka is still my favorite. It's been 100% reliable, it produces tons of light, and it's the lightest of all the LED headlamps I've tried. It 's better than a hand-held light for following a trail in the dark, and you can read with it in your tent, too. ... Read more

    Amazon.com Review

Depending on your tolerance for toting a heavy backpack uphill, picnics and hiking may or may not be an ideal combination. Those disinclined to lug chairs, blankets, dining ware, and coolers for comfortable dining, may find themselves instead seated on a damp log, wolfing down an energy bar. For hikers who want their fresh air with French bread, Welcom WearEver created their Deluxe Hi-Back BackPack Chair. Worn as a backpack when folded, it has ample room for a picnic blanket, small cooler, camera, soccer ball, and water bottles. Its durable, 25-millimeter, aluminum frame and 600-denier polyester fabric support up to 250 pounds of equipment.

As if the versatility of a backpack chair weren’t enough, Welcom WearEver has loaded this hiking essential with numerous amenities. The chair’s hardwood arm rests are great for relaxing elbows while reading a book. A cup holder keeps soda cans safe from ants, passing-by dogs, or sand sprays. A removable headrest pillow adjusts for varying heights, plus offers four reclining positions. The backpack compartment provides 1800 cubic inches of storage space and hangs from the backrest of the chair--so users can store articles while seated. A zipper seals the compartment, preventing items from tumbling out while traveling. Two, adjustable arm straps accommodate different body sizes.

The chair seat stands 10-1/2 inches off the ground. Folded, the chair measures 28 by 23-1/2 by 5 inches. This item weighs 11 pounds upon shipping. --Jessica Reuling ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars best chair for camping
I have owned this chair for over 2 years now & I camp about 20 times per year. This chair is holding up just fine. Keeping people outta MY chair is a chore around the campfire, cuz it is pretty comfy - with the headrest pillow! The built in backpack is handy for storage of maps, air beds, blankets, books or hiking boots. I cannot wait to buy the newer version with thicker metal tubing. I would highly recommend this one - from Total Escape's founder DanaMite.

5-0 out of 5 stars From Welcom Products
This is the first, and admittedly biased review of this chair...because we are the manufacturer, Welcom Products.

Our company started in late 1998 in my partner's garage in Redondo Beach, CA.The WearEver BackPack Chair was once just an idea....from someone that wanted to haul their gear (including a chair) to and from the beach several blocks away. Today, in California, you'd have to look hard NOT to see a WearEver Chair at the beach, park, socer field and every event conceivable - it's simply a better way to carry your chair, sit for long periods and have all your gear with you.

Millions of units later, we are now among a handful of the largest sellers of portable chairs in the US.

The WC04NS is an aluminum framed chair, and 5% lighter than our other full size (steel) loungers. Otherwise, it shares the huge backpack, twin adjustable carry straps, hardwood arms, multi-recline positions, adjustable headrest (why doesn't EVERY full-back lounger have one of these? It is just one of the differences you will appreciate with a genuine WearEver Chair from Welcom Products) and cupholder.

We make these chairs with some measure of pride...and hope that you enjoy them as those before you, and many after you, will. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Thought it was great, until it died
I was a huge fan of this flashlight, both because it was so bright, and because it used AA batteries, instead of the AAA that seem to be more common for LED flashlights these days, but can be harder to find when traveling in odd areas.

After having it around the house for several months, and recommending the brand to several people, I fully trusted the thing and took at as my only light on 5 week trip to rural Africa - and after just two weeks, it was dead.

The friend I was traveling with laughed, having warned me this would happen, as I stuttered in disbelief, and started a dissection using our kerosene lamp for light. Meanwhile, she sat reading a book on the other side of the hut with her nearly 2 year old LED Petzl headlamp.

Replacing the batteries, fiddling with the switch, nothing. Just dead.

Maybe it was just a fluke - or maybe they're meant for casual and not regular use. But, I've learned my lession - as of now, my loyalty is to Petzl when it comes to LED flashlights.

5-0 out of 5 stars Throw away your old flashlights!
I can't imagine why anyone would purchase an incadecent bulb flashlight after trying one of these. Compared to any other flashlight I've owned, the light is brighter and clearer than anything else. I'm thinking of buying the larger version of this flashlight in the future.

It sounds like a few people got defective units and wrote poor reviews, but I doubt very many of these are defective.

1-0 out of 5 stars What with all the hype about led flash lights.
Unless something is wrong with the one I bought from Costco, I am keeping my old one.I turned it on the fist time in my garage and thought to myself this couldn't be right, not from what I read about and expected.I checked to see if all the 7 leds are working and they seemed to be ok.I turned off the garage lights to to see how it work in the dark but was still surprised how dim it was. I compared my old traditional Ryovac with this light and the $8 Rayovac beat it by far in brighness, close up or from a distance, eventhough the leds produced whiter light.May be people bought these lights for the long hours of use and may be it needs a break-in period?Luckily I bought it from Costco and was able to return.

1-0 out of 5 stars Poor Product? You decide.
I purchased this flashlight at Costco. When I first turned it on I was impressed with the LED performance. However after trying to use it again later it would not turn on (completely dead).I tried different batteries, still no light.I returned the flashlight to Costco and bought another. The next one did the exact same thing.

2-0 out of 5 stars Streamlight ignors defect, no way to treat customers.
UPDATE: Streamlight took care of my problem by mailing me a new bulb head, I'm happy to share this and hope it tells all that Streamlight is interested in correcting problems. Please feel free to order this LED light knowing you'll be well treated.

    Original review:
I like this light, it does what I expected except one of the seven LED is out.
I made contact with Streamlight the day my light arrived yet have had NO response,
its been 7 weeks. Is it too much to ask for a product to preform as designed? I paid for a 7 LED light not a 6. All I need is a replacement bulb head.
StreamLight, I hope you see this and change your ways, with good products good service must follow. I would have ordered more but if this is an "AS-IS" product at premium prices I'll look long and hard before spending my money on any streemlight products. I tell it the way I know best and regret negitive info, I hope its just an oversight but have seen others telling the same here at Amazon. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Poor performer underwater/ NOT shock resistant
I bought one of these lights to work underwater and the seals failed filling the battery compartment with water. Streamlight replaced it, but when dropped from 4 feet to a carpeted floor it failed..replacement LED is 37.95 with shipping and replacement Streamlight 3C LED can be had for $39.00 so...I am tossing the Streamlight 3C LED in trash can and taking the loss...Sorry, but this item is not reliable, durable, or dependable..such a surprise for a company with such a good rep

5-0 out of 5 stars Once you've had LED you'll never go back.
This thing puts out an amazing amount of light and the batteries last forever.I keep one in the trunk of every car I own (3).

3-0 out of 5 stars Streamlight 33202 LED 3C NOT Waterproof
Everything said about this flashlight is spot on except for the fact that after using underwater in less than 10 feet, the battery compartment leaked and the batteries turned to rusted mush. So much for the claims of being waterproof!!! Otherwise a really nice flashlight but not the rugged competitor it claims to be...
So far have not heard from the manufacturer about servicing the warranty...will let you know

3-0 out of 5 stars It grows on you
Very nice product for what it does, but it takes some getting used to.First the good.Appears very durable and has a nice feel to it when carrying.Excellent for inside a house, such as during a power outage. The white light is very diffuse and wide angle illuminating a large area or an entire room.

Now for the not-so-good.The on switch in at the end of unit - inconvenient. The LED light is very different from the traditional flashlights and may not be what you expect. The light is not focused.Used outdoors, the diffuse light will illuminate I found relatively good up to only about 30 feet. The beam cannot be focused from a diffuse pattern to a sharp compact beam.My mag light is definitely better for outdoors.

Overall, nice product but it serves a niche.Definitely not the only flashlight I would want - or need - to own.

2-0 out of 5 stars Don't Drop This Flashlight
Contrary to what a previous reviewer said about being able to throw it against a wall without breaking it, this flashlight did not survive a 2 foot fall from my young childs hand onto the street this Halloween evening.

It is broken and no longer working.I had it a week.Update 11/14/03-after several emails back and forth, the company did send a free replacement LED bulb unit. The flashlight works again.Only thing now is that they sent blue LED lights instead of the white ones I had originall purchased.I've raised the ranking one more star for their response, albeit flawed.

Be careful it is fragile despite it's looks.Don't be fooled by claims by other reviewers who have not put it through a simple test by a child dropping it. ... Read more

    Amazon.com Review

One of the perks to using Lodge’s cast iron cookware is its superior heat retention. Unfortunately, that heat travels from the pan all the way up the handle, so indoor chefs and campfire cooks need to protect their hands. Lodge’s two-piece handle holder set comes with two festive black-and-red chili-pepper-printed mitts that slide right over pan handles. The exteriors are cozy cotton while silicone liners on the interiors keep the heat from radiating through the holders. --Cristina Vaamonde ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Lover of ironware
I love these Lodge iron products, having used the huge 11-pount wok (seasoned it myself) and the also-very-heavy chicken fryer. I always cook with high heat (gas stove) and the handles do get hot. I own a pair of these handle holders and they're fine--no complaints. I don't think I could ever burn myself holding the handle if these are in place but for the price I'd much rather just buy some handy towels and drape them over the handles. I'm happy to have the holders but if I could choose again, I wouldn't buy them; I think those $7 are better spent elsewhere.

3-0 out of 5 stars Lodge 2-Piece Hot Handle Holder Set
When cooking with cast iron skillets, these pans get HOT, extending through to the handles. I ordered the hot handle holder sets and needless to say, the holder set did not reduce the heat from the handles as I expected.Using one of the holders I continued to feel the heat from the handle. But it works better when I used two of the holders on the hot handle. It's too bad Lodge didn't make one holder strong enough to withstand the heat from the handle.I'll continue to use two of the holders but think there could be a less expensive way to protect the cook from potentially dangerous burns from the hot handle.

5-0 out of 5 stars I'm too hot to handle
The first thing you need to realize is that when cooking with cast iron, the entire piece gets HOT.It is an even heating surface, and yes, that even includes the handles. That's why Lodge made the Hot Handle Holder Set, and they really hit the nail on the head with this one.The holders fit perfectly on the handles of the pans that they make. They slide on easily and can remain there while you're cooking the item, if it is not near an open flame of course. They protect your hands from heat, even when holding the pan for extended periods of time like while you're cleaning it after cooking. It also makes the handle more comfortable, and provides a pretty good grip. The red peppers are my favorite, but I also have a set of the green salsa holders and they're nice too.Lodge is a company that is known for their quality, and this product is no exception.

5-0 out of 5 stars Very handy!
These handle covers are very handy and work well.I bought them with a Lodge cast iron skillet.Glad I got them since I know it would just have been a matter of time before I had burned my hand since I usually use more modern skillets.I am sure I would have forgotten to pick up a pot holder or an oven mit at some point before grabbing the iron handle.I have a gas stove top so the other thing I like about these sturdy handle covers is I don't worry about cloth hanging down from the handle to catch fire.

4-0 out of 5 stars Amazon is not the least expensive
Good product but found the exact 2 piece set cheaper than Amazon's $7.99 at Fisher Hardware for $4.89.Wish I had checked there first.

I can't give the full 5 stars based on the deal as a whole. ... Read more

    Product Description

Pepper spray enables you to defend yourself while keeping a safe distance from an attacker. A one second burst to the face will cause temporary blindness, choking, coughing, and nausea-bringing the attacker to his knees. The active ingredient in this spray is Oleoresin Capsicum (O.C.), commonly referred to as red pepper. Because it is an inflammatory, rather than an irritant, OC is effective against all those who feel no pain such as psychotics, drunks and drug abusers. OC has proven itself to be the ABSOLUTE BEST DETERRENT available for attacking dogs and wild animal control. Another major advantage of OC is that it is not volatile and will not emit a lot of fumes like tear gases. When considering which pepper spray is most effective, one must consider the percentage of pepper being used and the heat rating of that pepper (measured in Scoville Heat Units or S.H.U.) The Street Wise pepper spray is two million S.H.U., which is the highest available. At 17% and two million S.H.U., it is the hottest, most powerful in the world. The potency of this spray enables it to bring down even the most aggressive assailants. This model includes both a clip (to easily attach it to your clothes while walking or jogging) and a key ring. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars A great buy for the beginner, also a wonderful gift.
I purchased these binoculars and a guide to regional birds as a gift for my father who enjoys amateur bird-watching(mostly from his lovely back porch at our country home).I don't know the first thing about buying binoculars, so I relied heavily on the reviews of other purchasers.Happily, I was not disappointed. These binoculars are lightweight and very simple to use, which my father loves. The sheer clarity and visibility actually shocked me upon first use.The only downfall being that this model does not have a zoom function which would be helpful at times; however, it is not necessary and barely hinders ones viewing pleasure.

5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful for birdwatching!
My hubby and I are amateur birders - we have a very expensive set of field glasses but they are so heavy I cannot use them for extended periods.

So, I bought myself this nice Bushnell binocular - and I LOVE it!Very good for viewing, crisp images, and lightweight enough to use all day long without tiring my arms out!

I recommend them as a good yet inexpensive binocular.

5-0 out of 5 stars Very happy with purchase
Our first pair of binoculars, and my wife and I could not be happier. Clear, easy to focus, light weight. Great clarity at near distances; we have a Mourning Dove nest right off of our balcony -- less than six feet away -- and these binoculars allow us to to observe excellent detail. We're very happy with them; so much so that I just purchased the Bushnell Powerview 16x50 pair!

Theseain't Leica's but they work darn good!
With thesebinoculars you can. . .

Check out the birds and see who's making that racket!Excellentbeginingbirder glasses.

The close focus ability is great for butterfly watchers( 8 feet)
    get close without getting close!

Look at the heavens and see that all is not as it seems.
many "stars" are actually double stars, clusters or galaxies!

Easily read a license plate 100 yards away!

    well worth the money!

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent buy
I'm impressed. For the $$$, these are awesome. I use them mostly for watching birds on the feeders around my house, and for looking at the moon. Very nice. They are easy to use, crisp, and light. I can see better with these than with my 10x60 binoculars (not that I understand the 8x40 vs. 10x60 :) Bottom line: If you are after perfection, don't buy these -- instead spend $$$$$ and get a great pair of binoculars. If you aren't quite that demanding, aren't a millionaire, and just want to be able to see things in closeup around your house, etc. I highly recommend these. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars hammok chair
it was very comfy untill it broke and i landed on the wood floor

4-0 out of 5 stars MY WIFE LOVES IT
My wife and kids love the chair, but I don't care for it that much.I thought the chair was a little bit constricting.Assembly was easy.Give yourself alot of room for it, the base is huge.

3-0 out of 5 stars Nice, but doesn't last outside
I bought one for my wife for Christmas 2 years ago, and it was inside most of the time for the first year, and outside most of thesecond year, and the small ropes in the seat broke and the chair developed large holes as it raveled apart.
We live in Florida, but it was under a big oak tree, so it was shaded all day.
Ropes also got dirty looking fast.

3-0 out of 5 stars Nice, but not comfortable
Overall it is nicely made chair, but everytime when I sit in it, it made me feel like I am sitting in an airplane's economy class seat.My arm movement is very limited and my feet dangles in not so comfortable position.

5-0 out of 5 stars No better way to enjoy a good book on a warm sunny day!
Strong and comfortable, perhaps the best way to ensure domestic tranquility during the summer is to order two of these hammock chairs. It's perfect for hanging out where the shade and the breeze are best!I like this chair even more than the standard robe hammock that's provided hours of summertime naps and lounges to our family over the years.

Installation instructions are clear and easy to follow, with enough specifications regarding weight tolerance etc. to remove any concern over safety.Buy one for your spouse, and then get a second one for yourself.Or maybe just see if they'll let you snuggle with them. ... Read more
