great pack for traveling
I needed a pack for my upcoming journey and based from the previous reviewers recommendations. The pack fits my tent, a lightweight sleeping bag ,beauty essentials, toilet gear, clothes, survival gear, food and cooking supplies and at least for me has an entire half of the pack to fill up. Solid Craftsmanship
This is a high quality tool, as would be expected from Leatherman.It has a nice, solid feel and all joints are snug.I carry it with me at all times for those odd jobs that I don't want to run out to my tool box.As would be expected, I am more likely to fix those little problems when the tools are close at hand.
This tool comes with a combination plier/needlenose plier/wire cutter/stripper head, a nicely sized knife, three screwdrivers, a lanyard ring, scissors (which are perfectly leveraged), and a combination can opener/bottle opener.All blades are locking, with a nice release mechanism.In addition, there are well thought out "extras", such a ruler stamped into the case in inches and centimeters which is accurate enough for those quickie measurements that don't require extreme precision.
While not as comprehensive as some multi-tools, I have found the Fuse to be a nice compromise between functionality and portability.Highly recommended!

Great addition to the Leatherman line
As a PC tech, this tool has been indispensable in my job. I've owned several, my favorite being the Wave, but I like this one because it's lightweight and has just the tools I need (after all, who really needs a saw in computer work?) The nice thing about this one is all the blades lock, and the lock release is easy to use. Another nice feature is the "get only the blade you need" feature. On my old Wave, I would pull out the scissors and the screwdrivers would all come out with it. With the Fuse, if you want just the scissors, you'll get just the scissors.

While the tool itself is built very well and feels solid, my one gripe would be the leather sheath that came with it. It just feels cheap. Maybe I was spoiled with the deluxe sheath that my Wave has, but I would think that Leatherman would include high-quality sheaths to complement their high-quality tools.

While I would never consider replacing my Wave for my outdoor adventures or simple home improvement projects, the Fuse is a worthy addition to my collection and is a great asset in my job. I would definitely recommend it. ... Read more

Too bad it doesn't come with Mai Tai mix
I just got mine, and love it! My old rope hammock had holes the size of chain-link fencing. The weave an this hammock is small enough that you can toss a penny onto it without the penny falling through the holes. This makes it vastly more comfortable (by distributing the weight). It's like the difference between flannel and corduroy.

I tried a non-cotton hammock that I bought locally, but it was so slippery I slid off the silly thing. This hammock is like buttah....

I just needs some limes and a bunch of ice now, and I can kick back in style.

comfy hammock, until it sags to the ground under your weight
I got this last year from Amazon.com during one of their bundle specials with the hammock stand.It's a nice hammock and comfortable for the most part. My only complaint is that the ropes are too elastic.While it's very relaxing and conforms to your body, after about 30 minutes of laying or sitting on it, you have to get up and retension the hammock to keep your body from dragging along the ground (I'm a lightweight at about 135 lbs).It's possible that I need to break it in more since I've only used it about 10 times, but right now it kind of annoying that I can't just relax without worrying about feeling the ground beneath me.

ASHI Certified Home Inspector.
This is by far the best flashlight for any amount of money you can buy. I use mine in my business on a daily basis, as a home inspection. It's a tough and very bright flashlight. I've covered the handle in bright orange cloth tape to make it easier to locate if dropped and to insulate the handle on hot or cold days. I've had mine for three years now. I've replaced three bulbs. I use a belt loop to carry it and charge the light using the DC adapter in my truck. The company that makes the flashlight stands behind their products, with a life time warranty.

My Favorite Flashlight
As a professional auto mechanic I use a flashlight everyday, particularly when I'm performing vehicle inspections.My job has been made easier since I purchased a Streamlight Ultra Stinger (75,000).This light is so bright it simply makes other flashlights look like toys.I've used MagLite etc before, once you use an Ultra Stinger you won't want to go back.One caveat, bulbs for this flashlight are $8-$9 each, and I have to replace mine every few months. Although I do use this one for 2-3 hrs total per day, (more than most) lesser flashlights I've used required less frequent (and less expensive) replacement.Despite this I give the Ultra 4 stars.

Great Household Flashlight
I possess some characteristics of a "flashlight geek".I can't help look at the "flashlight aisle" whenever I'm in a department and electronic store.I always want to see the latest-and-greatest.Well, I was in the market for a rechargeable, durable, reliable, and easy-to-use general household flashlight.Now, not just any flashlight would due.I wanted the "best" for under $100.After looking at Mag's assortment, many other great brand flashlights, and flirting with some of the newer LED flashlights, I chose the Streamlight Ultra Stringer.

I wanted a strong beam and this provided it.It is rechargeable and feels well made and durable.I haven't put it through any stress tests, but it has been perfect for providing instant bright light around the home.Yes, it may be slightly overkill for my use...

Enough praise, here are my ideas for improving this flashlight ("lantern"):

- the bulb cover lens is plastic and seems like it could be made of something a little more scratch resistant.I haven't scratched mine yet, but it feels flimsy when I push in.This could be a positive... I'm not sure.I guess its better than glass shattering on impact.

- variable focus on light beam could provide a greater range.Current range almost seems worthless.Maybe I haven't been in the right situations.I know Mag has a much better variable focus on their upper-end flashlights (even their lower-end!).

I'll end with a few positives...Its weight feels nice in the hand, the included chargers work as expected, construction is solid, light is extremely bright (to me), and I'd buy it again if I had it to do all over again.(I still keep a nice assortment of LED, cheapies, and one of those "eternal" flashlights around.)

Amazon reshipped defective product to me! OUTRAGEOUS!
I got my Ultrastinger from Amazon today. It has a cracked/torn rubber nipple over the on/off switch, and from all the fingemarks and other tell-tale little marks on it, it's clearly a USED, PRE-OWNED item. Other evidence: the product box was not shrink-wrapped or sealed as it should be, and the battery was fully charged (new flashlights do not come with fully charged NiCad batteries).

I am outraged that Amazon would re-ship a returned, defective item, but that's exactly what has happened. This makes me very wary of ordering from them again. I immediately ordered that UPS come to pick this up and take it back at no charge to me. Now I have to "wait 7-12 days" AFTER they get this POS back before I get a refund. Nice.

Also, now that I've seen the way the rubber switch cover fails, I've decided not to get this product anyway. I'll have to look into another manufacturer.

The Streamlight Ultra Stinger™ Rechargable flashlight ROCKS!!!

I am a gadget nut, and I have a very large number of flashlights. IMHO, there is no better all-around flashlight than Streamlight's Ultra Stinger.

It truly is amazing how bright and light-weight this flashlight is.It puts out up to 75,000 candlepower yet weighs only 1.1 pounds. Not only is it bright, but you can focus the light to a small, penetrating beam that can be seen for miles.

Don't let the light weight fool you, however.This flashlight feels rock-solid in your hand, and it can take a licking.I take mine running almost every night, and have dropped it on the pavement more than a few times, and it just keeps going.

The Ultra Stinger is also durable and reliable.I've had my current model for over two years now, and the battery is still fine.I did have to replace the light bulb once, but that's not bad considering how many hours it's been in use and how many times I've recharged it.

The only flashlight that even compares to the Ultra Stinger is the SureFire 10X Dominator™.The Dominator weighs only 1.25 lbs and has a two-lamp assembly that allows you to run it at 60 lumens (roughly 36,000 CP by my calculations, about half the output of the Ultra Stinger) for up to 3 hours, or at an incredibly bright 500 lumens for up to 20 minutes.Yes, 500 lumens (or roughly 300,000 CP) is 4X brighter than the Ultra Stinger, but the light is UNFOCUSED, so the brightness is lost over any real distance as the light diffuses.When you factor in the ridiculously high price of the Dominator (the best price I could find on the Internet was $360!), you can see why I recommend the Streamlight as the overall champion.The Dominator is a great flashlight in its own right, of course, so probably the best idea is to get both.

I have several other flashlights from Streamlight, and they are all very well-made.Nevertheless, whenever I want a nice bright flashlight, I always go for my Ultra Stinger.My only serious question about it is, how can Streamlight make the Ultra Stinger so bright and light-weight, while their other models don't even come close?The brightest flashlight in the SL- series is the SL-35, which weighs 2.8 pounds (almost 3X more than the Ultra Stinger) and puts out up to 40,000 CP (Slightly more than half that of the Ultra Stinger).Plus, it's more expensive!The MSPR on the SL-35 is $229.95 vs. $174.95 for the Ultra Stinger.That math doesn't add up.

Other unbelievable examples:Streamlight's 3.3 pound 8-Watt Vulcan™ spotlight can generate up to 50,000 CP, and the 7.4 pound 20-Watt Litebox™ spotlight can kick out up to 70,000 CP.How is it even remotely possible that the Ultra Stinger, weighing in at 1.1 pounds and sporting a 10-Watt bulb, can out-shine these oversized hogs?The obvious answer is "runtime" - the Litebox™ can run at 20 Watts for up to 3.5 hours compared to a 1 hour runtime for the Ultra Stinger.Who cares - I'll take the Ultra Stinger every time!

Streamlight should take their older lights off the market and replace them or update them with the better technology found in the Ultra Stinger, like they did with the new Stinger HP.The Stinger HP weighs 12.2 ounces and kicks out 40,000 CP.Plus, the beam can be focused, while the SL- series is "pre-focused".

I'm sure that Streamlight is on the case -- the HP models are nice, and I really like the Pro Polymer LED lights, too.I just wish that they could come out with an affordable competitor to the $1,800 Maxabeam 6 million CP spotlight.

Not comfortable, doesn't hold up to weather...
Hammock is ok quality, and a decent price, but it isn't the most comfortable.You feel like you're slumped into a sling, and you need large trees or posts to tie it to.If you want a comfortable hammock, or you want to use a stand, get hammock with wood bars.I bought one from ExoticHammocks for about $50 and gave away my Amazona.Also, look for a hammock with nylon or polyester.Cotton hammocks rot and fade.

A necessity for our son with Autism!
I recently purchased my second hammock for my son.He has Autism, and spends a tremendous amount of time in his hammock. Winter adventurers should look for bags in the -10 to +10 range, while those on serious winter alpine climbs and expeditions will want a bag rated lower than -10.

Keep in mind that sleeping bag manufacturers' temperature ratings only estimate the minimum temperature at which the bag will provide warmth. Take these numbers with a grain of salt, as different folks generate different amounts of heat when they sleep. If you're the type who likes to pile on the covers even on warmer nights, go for a bag that's rated ten degrees colder. The opposite is true for "warm" sleepers--a 35-degree bag will probably work for you on a 25-degree night.

Goose or No Goose?
The most important component of any sleeping bag is its insulating material. Modern sleeping bags offer two choices: goose down or synthetic. While both materials have advantages and disadvantages, down bags are considered superior because of their phenomenal warmth-to-weight and warmth-to-bulk ratios. While providing great insulation, down is extremely compressible and light. There's a reason why geese can fly and stay warm through the winter! Down also boasts great long-term durability and will typically retain its insulating properties after years of use.

All of that said, there are many high-quality synthetic bags on the market and synthetic materials are getting better all the time. While a synthetic bag will weigh somewhat more than a down bag at an equivalent temperature rating, synthetic bags perform better when wet. (Yes, the Achilles heel of down is that it loses all insulating properties when wet.) If your trips take you to wet climates, you may want to consider a synthetic bag for this reason alone. Keep in mind, too, that many people are allergic to down--synthetic bags are non-allergenic. Finally, down is considerably more expensive than synthetic, which might tip the balance for adventurers on a budget.

Bags for All Shapes
Sleeping bags come in two basic shapes that reflect their intended use. Mummy-shaped bags offer the best warmth because they conform to the body's contours. This minimizes the amount of body heat the body must put out to maintain a constant temperature. Many mummy bags are offered in women-specific shapes and sizes, as well. Rectangular bags, while they do offer more room to toss and turn, are less thermally efficient because they contain more open air space. Also, they are typically heavier than mummy bags, and are generally not offered with down insulation, making them best suited for car camping or short backpacking trips.

Pad Yourself
No matter what kind of bag you choose, a sleeping pad is a required accessory. Not only do they provide much-needed comfort when sleeping on the ground, pads also offer crucial warmth for your backside, as the weight of your body compresses--and renders virtually useless--the sleeping bag insulation that lies beneath you.

Too much static...
This bag is very good for car camping but is too bulky for the rest. The only problem I have with this bag is that it creates too much static electric because of its outer shell. Otherwise it is a good product.

Very good bag for good weather camping
My husband and I debated buying two newer bags to zip together, but ultimately decided on this bag as we typically car camp and we often sleep on an air mattress. (Using two bags on an air mattress is less than ideal, and they slip off.) This bag is great for just this purpose. It has straps to hold it to an air mattress, plus a soft spot for our feet. A big selling point for us was the height that it accommodated - my husband is 6'1' and he has loads of space at his feet. It has great, comfy little pillows that you just roll up with the bag. And there's a little zippy pocket next to the head on each side for keys or similar.

Two things to know about this bag:
1) it isn't as warm or as light as down bags, but we didn't find any double down bags at the time we were shopping. It says it has a 30+ rating which is OK for good weather car camping, but we live in the Northwest where even summer evenings at altitude camp creep into the low 30s/high 40s. What makes up for that, of course, is that you're snuggled up next to another person! If we car camp, we also take along a fleece blanket in case it gets extra chilly, and while we're at it, something to throw on top of the air mattress since that's usually very cold. We have tried it sleeping on the ground or thermarest yet.

2) You can't even think about taking this hiking. It's enormous, bigger than my two- to three-day backpacking pack. If you want a bag/bags that you'll also use for backpacking, you need to buy two bags that will both collapse.

Bottom line - it's a great, value-priced bag for couples who mostly car camp. It would probably be especially suited for camper vans and the like as you have just one thing to roll out, rather than a bed to make.

Very Good Tool
I used the SwissTool Plus almost every day for three years until I lost it, and I bought the SwissTool Spirit Plus to replace it.

The first impression is that it fits better in the hand, but it feels less solid. I mean, the other tool produced a strong sound while closing and required force to open. It still felt new after three years of heavy use.

However, with the SwissTool one could break his nails trying to open the sheets appling force with a wrong angle. The new tool is much more confortable in that respect.

Also a big improvement are the scissors instead the plain knife. The more useful serrated knife is still there. There are 3-4 new functions and the bit case holds the bits much tighter. The leather pouch has a better construction, but I prefered the black color.

Another benefit is that the new tool is much lighter. To bad there is no ruler on the Spirit, since after some time with the other tool I used to measure small objects or distances on a map quite frequently.

In short, the Spirit is an improvement over the outstanding original tool. I only wonder if the new model will be as solid as the old one.

Slimmer, Trimmer,Sexy,SwissTool
I have had the original SwissTool for a few years it is practaly industructable. I wanted somthing smaller and lighter, so when Victorinox came out with Spirit I got one. It is a nice tool It has most of what it's big brother has with less mass. I also would like a straight blade. I like the bend in the handle, it feels right. The Spirit is well desined with all the tools on the outside. The locking mechinisum works great, very safe. I hope that the Spirit will be as durable as the original SwissTool. Victorinox & Swiss Army Brand have a great warrenty Program so no problems.

what's good:
1)the needlenose pliers in spirit is more useful if u need need to grip smaller items.
2)if u look at it's scissor,it use the new spring design which is better than the old Vic's weak and cheap spring.

what's bad:
1)unlike some people,i dun like the curved handle of the spirit,sure it make the plier action perform better,but if u want to use the outside tools,it perform poorer...
2)where is the straight blade?it doesn't make sense to me.
3)again,the strange handle lead to the absense of ruler....

all in all,getting the spirit is an excellence choice for you multi-tool users.hope this help.

Not safe, EZ-UP doesn't uphold warantee
I had an "EZ-UP" 10x10' shelter in my back yard, and when one crossbar broke, it broke 2 others. If anyone had been sitting in the chair in my back yard, they'd have become a shishcabob from the cheap thin metal used to make these canopies. Although EZ-UP sells products on their web site to facilitate holding these canopies down in the wind, they do NOT cover ANY "wind or rain damage," and although this, in my view, was NOT a factor of why the frame failed, the company's first response when I called to get a return authorization after it failed only after about 8 months of use, they quickly stated "we don't cover wind or rain damage, cut me off, and had apparently NO reguard for anyone's safety, stating that if it was raining or even in the slightest wind (I think it failed in around 2 mph "winds"), their "warantee" did not cover it! They said I could send it in and THEY would determine (after paying an outrageous sum of money to send it back) IF they might replace it, but that they likely would not. The people at the company were rude, had NO concern that their product had some safety issues, and so I'm looking to buy something less expensive, and that lasts longer! INteresting, they told me that they don't cover ANY wond or rain "damage", yet they also sell hold-downs & it states on their web site (& apparently in directions that I never received with mine) NOT to fold it up if it was wet, but to leave it up!

I had a MUCH less expensive shade that latested MUCH longer and I'd recommend others to do the same, or to buy an industrial model that CLEARLY stated in their warantee that the product can withstand wind up to "x" mph & that it is made to withstand rain as well.

After my experience with this company's product, and their staff in the returns dept., I would avoid ever buying one of these again! I received mine as a gift (that cost my friend over $200!)

There are MUCH better, sturdier, and safer canopies out there.

If I could give this product a zero or negative score, I would!

These canopies are NOT NEARLY as sturdy as I recall them being years ago (or perhaps that was another brand?)

I expect these canopies will be recalled in time due to safety issues.

I would STRONGLY recommend buying something less expensive and sturdier!

Excellent Product!
Even the first time you put this up, it only takes 5 minutes. It does require 2 people though. Putting it away is even easier. The rolling case it comes with is convenient and a perfect fit. A must-have for all families!

The quality of the e-z up dome has exceeded my expectations.I anticipate we will have the e-z up dome for many years of use.We had previously purchased a screen tent that took nearly an hour to put together and fell apart.We spent about 40 dollars on sale for that piece of junk.The dome takes two people no more than five minutes to fully assemble. When we took back the screen tent we decided to spend the money and get a quality product.The blue dome has survived three camping trips (one in the rain) and several outdoor barbeques.It has also come in handy in the yard overtop the kiddie pool to provide some shade.We plan to purchase the screen for the dome from the manufacturer on their website (costly though).If I could give it 10 stars I would.Oh and by the way, the storage case it comes with fits it perfectly.So taking it down and putting it away is also a breeze. ... Great for travel
How perfect that my daughter does not need to sleep on a hard floor when going to a sleepover at Grandma's. She loves this bed and now wants to sleep on it instead of her toddler bed while at home.

What A Great Idea!
A sleeping bag attached to a blow-up mattress - what a great idea! We bought this bed for our 4 yr old for traveling. It has been great. She finds it very comfortable and she absolutely loves sleeping in her very own "big kid" sleeping bag. She even insisted on sleeping in it on TOP of her bed the first night she had it.

We've taken this on numerous trips and it has been very durable (none of the deflation issues I've read about in other reviews). We also have an Aerobed, but she much prefers this small, cozy sleep-space. She HAS rolled off of it before, but has never flipped it over or anything like that. I figure she could just as easily roll off an Aerobed. The attached sleeping bag actually helps to keep her on top of it, I think.

This is a great sleeping bag and much more comfortable than a conventional sleeping bag because of the "ready bed" feature. I plan to buy another version of the ready-bed for my 2 1/2 yr old son for Christmas! I recommend this sleeping bag to anyone!

Fantastic travel bed/nap bed
We received this for my daughter's 3rd bday and she LOVES it--will only nap on this bed and its great for travelling and camping too. Its really easy to inflate/deflate, very quick with the manual pump (comes with it) and folds for storage into a neat little bag (comes with it).The sleeping bag comes off easily to wash, and the inside is like a big raft.It seems comfortable and has a built in pillow too.We have gotten a ton of use out of this, more so than any toy she would've received instead as a bday gift.
