The Ferrari of Hand Grips!!!
If you are really serious about hand grips, and you want something that is not your standard sport shop model, this is where to go. I got the Trainer, and for someone like myself that has been using hand grips since childhood, it was too easy. Then I got #1 and that was tuff; but I decided to get #2 and #3 as well. I have just recently graduated from #1 and using #2, and maybe in a year or more I can go to #3 and get certified.
Let me tell you this, if you can squeeze #2 at least once all the way, you are good. You can't really understand what I am trying to tell unless you get one. So if you are person that has never used hand grips regularly if at all, then go with the Trainer. If you have been using hand grips for awhile, and looking for something harder, then get the #1.

If you're thinking about a thighmaster, think again.
First of all I'd like to say how much I loved my Thighmaster.I got one four months ago from a Sportmart and it has been part of my daily routine ever since. I have much better thigh muscles and a lot more confidence in myself because that little invention made of foam and an industrial strength coil. With that said, I have a slightly amusing and mildly alarming anecdote for you.
I was just beginning my strength training exercises and I had just done my second rep with the Thighmaster and all of the sudden I heard a loud pop and it fell to the ground . . . IN TWO PIECES! Now there are two things that immediately crossed my mind, "Wow man, my thighs must made of STEEL!"and the other more likely scenario "Wow man, it fell apart after four months, this must be an inferior product."Anyway I e-mailed SuzanneSommers.com in hopes that it was a fluke and that I had gotten the one crumby thighmaster.I asked them if it was possible to replace it, and sadly although I only owned it four months I was told " It may be time for a new thigh master as the product is not designed to last forever." Last time I checked, four months is NOT anywhere near forever.A year, six months maybe, but when you divide the cost of a thighmaster by the amount of time I owned it, the costs outweighs the benefits.It is even less comforting that the company wasn't surprised or alarmed by their product's short lifespan.It seemed that if four months is akin forever to the people at suzannesomers.com, then the product's usage expectancy is not much more than that.It makes me unhappy to have ruined such a handy little device with normal wear and tear, but I can't really afford to buy a new one every four months.I just wanted to give everyone a heads up and let you know that although it is theoretically a great product, the durability is highly dubious.And the suzannesomers.com, who referred me to the manufacturer's warrantee only think that a thighmaster should work for three months maximum.

Great Bench For Price
We purchased this weight bench for our teenage son who is learning to lift through his high school and wants to extend his workouts to home. I'm giving it 4 stars because the bench you lay on is little narrow, however it offers training diversity, it's stable, well made and just right for our teen. We shopped around elsewhere online and in our area, this is a great weight bench at a great price, especially for a beginner.

Good bench and inexpensive to boot
The "Impex Fitness Comp 338" is an excellent bench.I have used it a little over a month now.I really enjoy it.The assembly only took me an hour.The two tools you need are a socket set/wrench and crescent wrench.

I did receive this bench with a minimal scratch on the curl pad, so I e-mailed the company, and within five days I had a replacement part.

LOVE this new addition to My home!
I am totally happy with this product! The operation is smooth and very quiet (the lack of a motor means I can walk while watching TV and almost forget that I am on a treadmill). Putting it together was a breeze and took less than ten minutes even with a 4-year-old "helping". I honestly didn't expect it to be as sturdy as it is for the purchase price, but I feel very secure when using it. It folds up exactly the way pictured (upright) with very little effort, and rolls to fit nicely in the space I have when I am not using it. If you have a coat closet or room between the couch & armchair, and NO under-bed or under-couch space, this model is ideal. I didn't expect much at all from the display/meter advertised, but now that I have used it I can honestly say it does what a friends' monitor does on a 1,000$ fully-motorised and computerised model (without the fancy heart/pulse monitor). If you want a workout machine to do the workout FOR you, you might not like this one & should pay the extra $500-1,000 for a fully-motorised version - the manual treadmill plus the built-in incline really do make you WORK (and that is precisely why I wanted it in the first place!). Two caveats: if you need an extra wide area in which to walk, you might want to look at another, or at least find one of these models to try out before buying. I don't find the average-width tread a problem and really like the open front end, but a friend that needs to walk with feet very widely spaced did have a bit of trouble.Also, this is a model for WALKERS more than RUNNERS (just My opinion, but again, that was one of the reasons I wanted it). All in all,I expect I will get MUCH more than My money's worth from this!

Working Out Is Much Harder Than I Expected
My wife works out twice a day with the AbWheel.I was doing some yard work last week and the front tire on my wheelbarrow went flat.I had a huge pile of dirt to move, so I took the AbWheel apart and removed the wheel assembly from the handle bar axle.I put the wheel it on my wheelbarrow and it fit perfectly.Now my wife works out with the wheel barrow because she likes the extra weight.

My Dad has had this AbWheel for at least 20 years and he just started using it again at 57.Now he's more ripped then I am and his back, arms, and abs are rock solid.This thing is amazing and simple...the key, start slowly.He challenged me to use it the last time I went to his house, I went up and down twice and felt pretty good about myself (he does 60-100 reps from his knees then another 10 from his toes).The next morning after doing only 2 reps I woke up as sore as if I'd spent the entire day in the gym.I'm buying one of these right now so I can catch up to my Dad.Can't have a 60 year old man looking better than his 20-something son. ... Unexpectedly Good Workouts
First, this is not a 75" ball, as the Amazon Title indicates.It is a 75cm ball.I'm a big guy and I wasn't sure that it would work for me, but I was pleasantly surprised.The trunk stretches and crunches deliver a real burn in short order.The ball comes with a pump, and a small bag containing plugs and pump nozzles.Pumping up the ball requires about 1000 strokes of the provided small pump, so be ready to work at it.

One of the more challenging aspects of workouts using the ball is the need to balance yourself while doing the exercise.It involves at least another 33% effort to keep your body centered while doing the crunches.I think that makes this a much better exercise than the same thing done on a fixed foundation.

One of the greatest running shoes available today
Whether you are an aspiring athlete or just really want to take good care of your feet, this is a great shoe. It has excellent arch and heel support, with the gel inserts that cushion against high impact running while enveloping around your foot to secure it. Surprisingly Accurate, Excellent Value

After having little success using a $250 Timex Bodylink GPS watch (see review) in Manhattan, I decided to try this $15 pedometer. At first I was quite skeptical. However my tests showed the Sportline 340 Pedometer having astounding repeatability (better than 1%) and accuracy.

Most pedometers, including this one, are very basic instruments. Inside the device, there is a balanced weight that is very sensitive to vertical motion. When clipped to your belt, it increments the counter as you step driven by the translation of one side of your waist.

In order to test and calibrate the Sportline 340 Pedometer, I walked a very straight stretch of six Manhattan blocks. In the first group of tests, there were few sidewalk obstacles and minimal pedestrian traffic that impeded my movements.In order to be moderately scientific, I was certain to start and stop on the proper side of the street so the distance included exactly six stretches of cross street and six stretches of sidewalk.

After four trips of walking the same path, my step counter showed an amazingly small range of 588 to 594 steps. When one considers the variables imposed, such as not always being able to walk completely straight, the results are even more impressive. As you can see from the data below, the accuracy was quite amazing. The difference from the mean never exceeded 1%. Given the simplicity of the pedometer, I didn't expect this level of repeatability. Moreover, I didn't expect my stride length to be so uniform.

My hypothesis was that the exceptional accuracy may have been fostered, in part, by the shoes I was wearing. The Kenneth Cole Building Block shoes (see review) have very heavy soles and large heals. These may insure that the impact is harsh enough to always trigger the movement of the weight.

On a second grouping of tests, I walked precisely the same path wearing my New Balance 620 cross trainers (see review). The conditions were not the same as the group due to far more pedestrian traffic and other obstacles, which made it very difficult to walk in a straight line. In fact, one test had to be scrapped as I was nearly run over by a taxi. As you can see below, the second group produced a step count about 2% greater than the first group. Yet this was probably due to the unavoidable path changes.

Considering that the pedometer is only calibrated in whole inches, the accuracy truly limited by the precision of the calibration settings. This means there is no difference in the two calibrations as both stride lengths would round to 32 inches.

For the price, the Sportline 340 pedometer is an excellent piece of fitness equipment. If you enjoy low-impact exercise by walking, consider this device as an excellent tool for tracking your efforts.

It works great when programed correctly!
When I first bought this, I thought this was a cheap product.However, then I read the directions!! I took several distance measurements of my strides (the "how too's" are in the directions) and then programed the stride lenght into the pedometer and it was accurate with in about 30 to 40 steps.I'm sure there are better mods, but this one is simple & small & pretty accurate in my opinion!Especailly for what you pay!
(I would recommend buying the used ones in "new" or "like new" condition - or somewhere that you can return them if you don't find it easy or accurate.Based on the other reviews, I think people just don't program them right.) I just bought this sportline 340 pedometer today.I walked20 steps, and it gave me a reading of 58 steps.I reset it, and tested it again.The next 50 steps I took resulted in a reading of 69 steps.I reset it, and tested it again.With my next 50 steps, it gave me a reading of 18 steps.I was very careful to use it properly; the problem was not human error.Don't bother with the sportline 340.

This pedometer doesn't clock every step. I walked around the city for hours and it only clocked 12k steps while my sister's clocked 20k. It's a nice, tiny size that doesn't bulge from my belt but it doesn't do the job it's supposed to. ... Read more
