not for beginners
Before you start ANY Taebo Tape you must be ready to be sore for a couple of days.I have been doing Taebo for 7 years.It is a good work and you will lose weight and gain muscle.The Boot Camp Series is great.If you don't want to lose weight or gain muscle DON'T DO TAEBO......

NOT for beginners...
Being a huge fan and dedicated user of Billy's taebo workouts, I was really excited to see that he had come up with something new.The concept is great: taebo with resistance training, but the practicalities aren't great. Overall there is nowhere near enough instruction on how to use the bands, or the movements using those bands - e.g., how far up/down are you meant to lift your arms before you start using the wrong muscle??? Where should the band be - in front or behind your elbow? You get my drift!
The workouts are much the same as any of the other BB taebo workouts, but that's fine - I mean how many different moves can you come up with for this type of workout?!
I consider myself to be quite fit - I've always worked out regularly and could almost do taebo advanced and taebo gold without breaking a sweat.So imagine my surprise when I tried one of these new DVD's and found that it switched so fast from stationery to high level cardio that I felt both dizzy and sick. This rapid switch happens more than once on the ultimate workout dvd - there's not enough time to increase/decrease your heartrate at a steady pace.
The stretch sessions at the beginning of the basic and ultimate workouts are better than on any previous taebo workouts, but two things:these stretches are done without any form of warm-up, so they increase the risk of injury, and there is no stretching at the end of any of these new workouts -so you have to make sure you do your own stretches.
Whilst on the subject of warm-up/stretching, the abs dvd includes no warm up or stretching whatsoever.
The live workout is OK, but again, a bit impractical, swtiches rapidly between moves and just generally left me feeling frustrated rather than like i'd had a good workout
I suspect the people shown in the work-outs have practiced long and hard to be able to pull the workouts off.
So why only two stars? Because I thought it'd be something new and great - it is something new, but it's not great.In fact, I imagine that if a complete exercise novice tried these dvd's with the bands, they would be likely to hurt themselves.So if you have never done taebo before, start with one of Billy's many other excellent workouts before attempting this! ... Great workout in high step, NOT come with DVD but VHS
I recieved the high step box from Amazon.com today. In the product information above stated that include Cathe high step workout DVD. However, I got the box with VSH Cathe Intensity series Muscle Endurance which I already have. I love to workout with Cathe so I bought most the nesessary stuff for her workout. Great Fitness Bands, So-So DVD
I ordered this product to add more variety and challenge to my toning workouts. Fitness bands are particularly great for women, who may want to gain muscle strength without bulking up. This product comes with three fitness bands of varying resistance. I was pretty surprised how hard some of the exercises were even with the lightest resistance band--but they all felt good and gave me a challenge. I really loved the accessories the bands came with--a door strap and ankle straps. With the door strap you put it in the door frame and close the door, then loop the band through it. If you put the door strap at the top of the door or at shoulder level, there are many excellent shoulder exercises you can do. You can also put it lower in the door frame to do exercises sitting, or lying down. If you exchange the handles for the ankle straps, you can work your leg muscles, also using the door strap.

The only thing I didn't really like was the DVD. It was definitely helpful the first time I used the bands--showing a variety of exercises and correct form for each one. But, you can't really use it from start to finish for your workout. The instructor only demonstrates how to do the exercises--she doesn't lead you through doing them on each side of the body, etc, for a full workout. Also, you frequently have to change to and from the door strap and ankle straps, which takes about 30 seconds, so you have to pause the DVD between most exercises, which is kind of annoying after a few times. Luckily, the kit also comes with a poster that shows all of the exercises and explains good form on each, so that is helpful for everyday use.

This is a great kit for travelers. You can just bring the one resistance band you're using at the moment, the accessories, and the poster, if you need it. ... Read more
