does exactly what it's supposed to, and does it well.

to use:

1. with one end, extend the brush, and wipe debris away.

2. twist the cap on the other end, and take it off.with that end, wipe in a circular motion, and smudges get polished away.

Hi, bought this items to fill te 25$ to get free shipping when buying a case for my camera, a Canon Powershot S1 IS.
I own a Scope and i had some Eye Pieces with some fingerprints (I'm kind of dumy without my night vision fixed!!!) I used the Nikon lens pen to remove those fingerprints and the result was absolutely awesome.I have used it wtih my camera too! I'm really pleased with the results.... now i'm carrying it with my camera and with my scope... it's easy to use, small, usefull, cheap... I totally recomend it!

This low-priced pen cleaning kit from Nikon is a must-have.I was surprised that it costs less than non-Nikon cleaning pens that do exactly the same.

One end of the pen has a soft brush which is retractable.It's perfect for brushing away dust on the lens.The other end is a cleaning pad, which is used to remove fingerprints and particles that get stuck on the lens.Because this product is small, it doesn't take up any space in the camera bag.It's also very convenient to use.

Of course, if your lens surface is really dirty, you should get a complete cleaning system including lens-friendly cleaning solution and soft tissue paper.

Easy to use lens cleaning device
This is a easy to use lens cleaning device.

You use the bush end to remove any debris from the lens, and the pad end to remove fingerprints and the like.

The bush is retractable and soft enough not to damage lenses.

The pad is treated (coated) in such a way as to remove fingerprints without leaving smudges.

I have had excellent results using the Nikon Lens Pen on my Sony DSC F-828 digital camera.However it is important to note that the pad end is much too big to use on the electronic viewfinder (or anything else less than about a half an inch in diameter).

The Nikon Lens Pen appears to be identical to many other LensPens out there (they all seem to be identical except for branding and coloration).Perhaps they are all manufactured by one company (perhaps other than Nikon)?

Underwhelming
Although I had high hopes that I could carry this cleaning tool with me during my hikes, I've since decided that it's almost worthless.The main cleaning "tip" is too large to reach the oculars of my Nikon binoculars (nice going, Nikon!).And although I can use it to clean other lenses (objectives, camera), the results are uneven and unimpressive.As a long term Nikon user, I'm very disappointed that they've put their name on a product that's as mediocre as this one.Surely there's a better alternative for a compact cleaning kit that I can carry in the field!I certainly won't buy another one of these. ... great accessory
The first reviewers complaint is like saying cd's suck because you have a turntable! He can actually get an accessory to attach to his "old" Wave to use these bits.

This kit replaces the screwdriver style bit driver and hex insert set I used to carry in my kit. Knowing I got it all there is great. I only wish they would sell replacements piece by piece in case of loss or damage.

Affordable quality and light weight
In selecting a binocular to use in my backpacking and mountaineering hobbies, I wanted something small, light weight, and with reasonably good optics, yet not so expensive that I'd cry in my beer for days should I drop or otherwise damage them. These binoculars seemed to be the ideal choice. Although slightly more expensive than the half-dozen other brands which I compared them with, to my eyes the Nikon Travelites had noticeably superior optics. They are compact yet comfortable to hold, and the rubber body covering provides for a secure grip. And with a weight of around 9-ounces I almost never give a second thought about adding them to my pack. Not for all day wear
I (like many others) use the radios when riding my snowboard.

The sound quality can't be faulted, both sending and receiving are crystal clear (and now private). Wearing it all day you can now hear when people are paging you, not just when standing in line.

Now the bad; the build quality should be questioned, the speaker inside the earbod rattles around in mine, and the "PTT" button is difficult to press when wearing gloves. The earbud's a little big for my ear, and isn't as comfortable as it could be (although it fits under my helmet fine).

The other problem I've had with this is that it pops out of the headphone jack on the radio with annoying regularity. I've solved this with duct tape, which isn't pretty but it is functional....

Good product. Short wire
This product does exactly what its supposed to do. I don't understand people who expected this product to support VOX. It does not say anything about VOX in product description. I personally don't like VOX, because I don't want my children to hear what I'm saying when I fall down while skiing :-).
Anyway the product is OK. The only problem for me is a very short wire, that's why I gave it 4 stars.

Nice product, but...
The product itself is very nice and easy to use. I use it for skiing and find it very convinient except VOX. The earbud is not voice activated even though my two way radios support VOX, so every time you want to talk, you have to push the button on the microphone what is really unconvinient.

I should have realized that this mic does not support VOX. I guess when you buy a microphone its can be either PTT (push to talk) or VOX.

a good buy
used them several times in the alps and the rockies.they worked great on the same sides of the mountain.if it was much more spread out, no workie.you can't beat it for the price and it came in handy when we lost my chic for 4 hours in a blizzard.we found her only by using them.however i might add battery life will only last a one week trip.pretty poor for that many batteries (3 AA's each).

Very useful tool
I recently bought a pair and I keep finding uses for them: they are great for constant communication when working on field surveys; or trail hiking; or mountain biking; or on a road trip, you can use them from car to car; or on the shopping center. Of course, good reception distance varies with the obstacles between you and your partners, but that's normal.

dont be fooled, this two-way radio doesnt exactly have a 5-mile range everywhere. its only 5 miles on open spaces, but in the mountains it gets pretty nasty. i used it when i went snowboarding in Colorado, and when my party split up to two sides of the mountain we couldnt hear each other anymore. its not a bad radio, but it doesnt have a 5-mile range as listed, but if you can get it for less than 35 bucks, then it might be worth it ... Accurate...
This is a pretty accurate radar gun for baseball, as far as I can tell. If you follow the directions, and are as close to the action as possible, and at a "straight on" angle, it looks like its correct in the + - 1 mph statement. However, this is a cool gadget, but if you are serious about "speed" and would like more versatility, then your going to have to go with the official MLB JUGS gun...but at a much higher price.

Works for hockey too
This radar gun works for hockey pucks too.I crouched behind the net and zapped the oncoming slapshots.Just remember to wear protective gear when behind the net, especially a full face helmet.When the shots miss the net, the pucks will bounce off the boards and find you.

I thought you guys where fair and im-partial.
Anyway based on the number of other negative feedbacks looks like you cant hide the truth for long.
THe triger breaks. The Battrey compartment breaks without even touching it. The strap breaks the minute you use it.
Acuracy is poor. And gets worse with age.
Customer support is non existant. Not even an e-mail address on the site.
My honest feedback. If you need a toy buy it. If your serious. Buy something else. Ever wonder why a products price keeps droping. No sales. [...]

Good value for low cost radar gun.............
I have had the gun for a year.Although there is a slight learning curve it is pretty accurate once you get a feel for it.I use it on our youth baseball pitchers and it works good. It does not read every pitch, but I would say once you learn to use it about >95% of the pitches will be recorded.

I had a problem last week where it would not read ANY pitches.My son was in the backyard with his friends and I was attempting to shoot them to see the velocity of their pitches (the kids love it).It would not read a single pitch.Then I came on here to read comments and I saw where one gentleman said he changed balls and had no problem.Our next baseball practice I noticed that although the gun worked on most of our balls it did not on some of them.When it did not work I had the guys change to a different ball (they were using a synthetic leather ball) and it worked good.Having said that, some of the genuine leather balls would not record as well.Each group was able to get a ball that would register though.

Last week I was about to go and order a Jugs gun at ~$750.Needless to say I am glad that I read these comments on this board before I wasted my money.(BTW, after the fact, I realized that my son and his friends were indeed throwing a synthetic leather ball in the backyard.)

If you need EVERY pitch recorded this is not your gun.However, if you are just using it for fun and to monitor your pitchers and check their velocity this is a very affordable and good product.It is NOT perfect though.

For the price, works well, though not very rugged
I've owned a Speedster for the past two years, and for the price, it work adequately for getting pitch speeds for my son's club baseball team.The accuracy was reasonable and it picked up most pitches.It would occasionally fail to lock on to a pitch.

While not as accurate as a Jugs or other high-end radar guns, for my use, it was a good price-performance tradeoff, i.e., I don't sit behind the backstop measuring every pitch of every game, and +/- 1MPH is OK for measuring prep players, so I simply can't justify spending $800+ for a Jugs.I'm a "team parent", not a scout.

My '4' rating is relative to price-performance ... not necessarily to absolute quality or performance.My only complaints:the battery door in the handle is pretty cheap and breaks easily if the unit is dropped; the unit requires relatively fresh batteries ... it gets dicey on readings when the batteries get partially drained; and, I wish it would hold the highest absolute speed reading until you reset instead of when you release the trigger.

I'm now buying a second Speedster ... my first took a hit by an errant ball to the handle while I was holding it, the battery door broke off, and the battery pack slid out and fell to the ground ... breaking into several pieces.Tried to glue it all back together again, but with the plastic, it simply didn't work.I thought about looking at a higher quality radar gun like a Jugs, but at 4-5 times the price, there's simply not enough value-add to me for that step up in price. ... Best sharpening set available.
I have been sharpening knives on flat stones by hand for many years.I just got a Spyderco Sharpmaker, and it's the best contraption I have ever used.

The stones are good quality.Similar cheaper brands have lumps on otherwise perfect stones, making them almost useless.Both the coarse and fine stones leave a relatively fine edge considering how well they remove metal.

The triangular shape of the stones makes them work very well for regular knives and serrated knives as well.

It comes with an instruction book that tells you exactly what to do.If you follow the instructions, you will get a very sharp edge.The only skill involved is holding the blade up and down, and that isn't hard at all.

The price looks high, but you get a total of 4 long stones (two fine, two medium) of good quality.It is well worth the price to be able to keep your knives sharp on your own instead of paying someone to do it, which adds up fast.

I don't recommend sharpening systems that involve clamping a guide system to the blade because they tend to slip and/or scratch the blade, are annoying to use for quick touch-ups, and don't actually maintain a good angle along the whole blade due to the mechanics involved.

Finally a greatknife sharpener
For 40 years I have been looking for the perfect knife sharpener and this comes pretty close. Sharpens conventional blades plus serrated baldes, sissors, chisels....just about anything that needs a sharp edge. Comes with an excellent 20-25 minute video and a very good full color instruction book.
