very good gun
I got this gun a month ago (...). It comes with a very good stock barrel so the gun has good accruacy. It has a built in gauge so you can tell how much pressure is in the gun. Another good thing about this gun is that it has no plastic. A lot of guns you get for this price has plastic parts. The rodeo has none at all. This is a very good starting gun for beginners. I've had no problems with it at all. My friends that bought their gun at the same time as I did. They have all broke in someway already but mine, no problems. Even my friends 260 gun broke. Kingman Spyder is a very good brand and you can trust that they'll work. The gun also has a quick disconnect pin (all spyders do). It allows you to take out the velocity adjuster, bolt, stricker and a couple other things without even using screws. The gun also has an anti-doulble feed. For the price this gun is very well worth it. I would even pay $20 more for it. You should definatley buy this gun. ... Read more

A very decent starter package
This particular paintball package, although slightly overpriced, offers a solid marker, a nice mask and a sizable CO2 tank.you can do better on ebay (probably somwhere around fourty dollars better).

If you are shopping around and don't know exactly what to buy and are just starting out here's a review from a guy who owns 6 Spyders, one Typhoon, one Blazer, one Autococker, a Sterling pump, a prolite, a carbine, two SL-68's and has played for over 10 years.

First of all don't get too bogged down by the variety of Kingman Spyders out there.Internally they are almost all the same (except some of the older ones who used a slightly larger striker) while bodies are nearly identical to each other with the exception being the awful Spyder Sport which is plastic.Stay away from that one.The Spyder XTRA is an aluminum body marker and as such it is reasonably tough.Treat it carefullly and you should have no problems with it.

Accuracy on Spyders is no better or worse than any other marker.In paintball you are dealing with imperfect paintballs therefore discussing accuracy as if you were shooting bullets is useless.

Discussing accuracy in relative terms - that is in relation to other PAINTBALL markers is a different story. What matter most is the velocity of your marker (almost all markers should be adjusted to about 280 fps otherwise you will start breaking balls and start shooting sliders and curveballs), and the paint to barrel match.Paintballs are .68 in circumference but because of the different companies you get slightly different sizes.

To get better accuracy you could buy small, medium and large bore sizes barrels and your gun will then match paintball sizes properly and your accuracy and efficiency (used CO2) will increase.You could buy barrel kits that come with different bore inserts and backs and ends.Personally, I recommend the Custom Products (CP) barrels.I recommend you buy 12 inch long barrels.That's about the perfect size barrel for paintball.Anything shorter will reduce you CO2 efficiency and fail to provide a proper "launching pad" for paintballs and anything longer increases the drag needlessly.As far as I'm concerned the new Spyders come with a decent barrel.not great but certainly not as awful as the one on the Tippmann model 98.

A lot of people will tell you that Spyders are useless against markers like Autocockers, Angels and Shockers.This is nonsense'trust me on this.The only marker I have ever shot that I feel was superior to any other marker is my Palmer's Typhoon and that's because the marker has a brass barrel and is honed in an elliptical fashion that essentially forces the paintball to adjust istelf well to the barrel and the marker itself is hand made with love and care by a master airsmith instead of an assembly line somewhere in China.But I digress.The point is that with the right paint to barrel match you will have no trouble playing with anyone on the field.

One last word.Most markers today come with electronics that allow burts modes and full auto modes.in other words you could set an electro marker to shoot, say....15 balls per second.Personally, I feel this is retarded but it helps keep the cost of my paintballs low so if any fools out there prefer electro markers go ahead and buy one.Just know that most fields won't allow you to play full auto or burst mode.I know if I got hit 15 times by one guy in one second I would meet him in the parking lot and introduce him to the business end of my boot.

This gun is really good. As mentioned in the review by that guy who first reviewed this gun, this gun is the best for beginners to pro's. All the parts on the gun are pro level as well. The barrel should be changed (I got a 14-inch Teardrop Smartparts Barrel) and if you like rapid firing, change the trigger to a numatic trigger (runs by air, bettr than electric ones) and get a HALO or an Empire Reloader II. So overall, this a good gun. BUY IT!!!!!!!!!!
