A Middle Minded Racquet
Easily mastering one-handed backhands, topspin lobs, drop shots, and strong play from the baseline are all in range with this low cost intermediate tennis racquet from Prince.In fact, the Prince Scream TT well exemplifies all the qualities expected in a product aimed at the level 3.0 to 5.0 NTRP player.Its even balance, moderate weight (10 oz), average stiffness, and medium-low power all support in allowing an individual to fully exploit his own technical potential on the court.

Upon first use the racquet felt somewhat awkward in hand compared to my usual - a top heavy and all round heavier Yonex TI-30 (11.3 oz).The Prince Scream TT also measured up an inch shorter.I was already a little skeptical, fearing too little power, lack of control, and solid feel.But I was wrong.Shots were relatively solid and the power was there when I needed it.Full swings from the baseline became a pleasure.The only drawback was a lack of absorption on contact.There was a heavy amount of vibration that I was unaccustomed to, and the racquet didn't include a shock absorber.But, it seemed like a necessary agent.

The bottom line is:The Scream TT is an excellent intermediate racquet.It's moderate weight, power, and balance allow a player to concentrate on the finer points of their game.But, despite its relatively solid play the vibration on contact was just plain overbearing; ultimately a small amount of lead tape was used to increase the overall weight, which helped in shock absorption.But, for the price you can't go wrong - it seems like a racquet I'll always use. ... Once the ball collides with the strings of the Pro Kennex Core 1 Number 20 racquet, the frame, consisting of two independent cylinders, responds. Upon impact one cylinder reacts and flexes creating a vibration pattern. At the same time the other cylinder reacts and flexes creating an opposite vibration pattern. A wood core spine, which links the two cylinders, allows these opposing vibrations to collide, which neutralizes the shock. Wood is a natural filter of vibrations. While managing the collision to reduce shock it also shapes the vibrations into solid informaton to the player during the shot. The player feels the ball on the strings because much of the disruptive initial shock is eliminated while the wood shapes the vibrations into information a player can use.
